View Larger + PHOTO: File Providence Police responded to a report of shots fired in Fox Point in Providence on Sunday. 

According to police, the windows of a jewelry store were shattered and shell casings were found. 

Shortly before 7:30 PM on Sunday, police responded to 387 Wickenden Street for a call of shots fired. 

Police said they observed the front and side windows of the jewelry store located at the address to be shattered, with a bullet hole in one of the windows.

According to police, multiple shell casings were located outside the building. 

Police spoke with witnesses, who said they observed an SUV speeding away from the scene. 

Detectives are currently investigating. 

Violence in City on Sunday 

Police are investigating a shooting on Sunday afternoon in front of the Renaissance Hotel that sent one man to the hospital.

According to police, shortly after 1:15 PM, there was a report of a shooting at 106 Francis Street, in front of the Providence hotel -- which is located across from the Rhode Island State House.
